Federal Republic of Canida: Aircraft (Canidan Forces Air Force)

The CFAF benefitted from a fairly close relationship with outer Crystal Kingdom settlements, and after the restoration of the Crystal Heart, the Canidan Federal Government pushed immediately to try and create an aircraft for Canid use. As Canids have, essentially, proper digits, they can use things like a Human might, with some restrictions, and at 7/8ths scale. The CFAF has control over all flying craft in the Canidan Forces, including stationing pilots and administrative staff aboard the Fleet's Carrier.

Unlike the Equestrian F/A-1, the CFA-1 is much heavier, and relies more on its Lifting Body design and less on its Gas Bags to maintain altitude. If a total loss of power occured, however, even at maximum weight, the aircraft could "float" to the ground as long as its gas bags weren't damaged, and at a low enough velocity to prevent injury to the pilot. This is assuming no air currents are available to "glide" the aircraft towards the ground. As with the F/A-1, a small Jump Seat is behind the pilot that could comfortably carry a Pony, or carry a Canid or smaller Griffon with some tightness - General K, of course, would be quite cramped, but can fit.

The CS-1 Hound is an interesting multi-role aircraft. It can carry up to three passengers, and the rear half of the cockpit slides back, while the front slides forwards, allowing those three passengers to egress from the aircraft while in flight. Instead of passengers, it can carry five 100lbs (45kg) bombs (one under each wing root, two in the internal bay), or one Depth Charge, the Canidan Forces the first to develop the Depth Charge concept in preparation for Tirek or another nation's possible discovery and use of submarines. Unlike the Firefox, a Hound with a pilot and a full ammo load is almost neutrally bouyant in the air. When passengers are aboard, the plane must be lowered into the ocean and take off and land like a Seaplane.
