Republic of Canida: Firearms

Canids, unlike Ponies, have 'fingers' in a sense - they have individual digits at the ends of their forelegs. While technically toes, they can flex like fingers, and given the Univeral Laws of that world, act just like them. As a result, while Canidans CAN use Equestrian weapons (with the same challenges General K faces), they operate better with normal triggers. Canidans are 7/8ths the scale of an average human, so, standard human-sized weapons - while a tad large - would work for them. Largely, Canidan's armed forces adopted foreign weapons with Canidan trigger packs installed, much like Earth Canada has. They did, however, develop their own Precision Rifle.

The Inglis is the Canidan version of the Enfield Hi-Power. A finger trigger was added, and a hump on the slide to protect the rear sights, which are adjustable. The 13-round magazine gives a lot of potential firepower. The weapon's weight helps keep it stable with each shot. The long barrel helps with precision.

Selected as Canida's primary SMG, the Barker is manufactured primarily by the Diemaco Steel Pressments Corporation (under the Diemaco Small Arms Division, created in 1003 C.S.) at their primary facility in Kitchen, Skandario and their satellite facility in Regina, Keiskatchewan. As with Equestria, SMG's are used in higher numbers by local militia units, in Canida, referred to as "Fencibles."

The C-7 Ross Rifle is simply an Equestrian Bradley with a new lower reciever that has a proper finger trigger. Even after the adoption of the Grant by Equestria, Canida stayed with the Ross. Canidan Ross rifles were first assembled with a locally made lower at the Diemaco Factory in Kitchen, Skandario. Later on, Long Stick Arsenal in Missisausage, Skandario started manufacturing complete rifles.

Using the internals of the Sniper Sherman, the C-3 uses Bradley furniture, adapted to fit onto the weapon. This makes the weapon look more like a Bradley, and handle like a hybrid between this and the Sherman. The added Bradley stock makes the weapon more compact as well.

A hefty rifle with a very long reach, the Timberwolf is Canida's hard-hitting precision rifle. Unusually, it's a bolt-action, and the only one of its kind. While Canida was given EM-4 Brownings and ammo, they were not initially able to get ahold of Hathcock or Super Sherman precision rifles, so, they invented their own - this. The Timberwolf became a favorite of General Staff Officer Teddy, and among Dragons and larger Griffons in the Canidan and other NEIGHTO armies.
