Once the internal hangar deck was properly completed, with assistance from Equestria, it was found that the vessel could pack more planes on it than Canida had at the time. For its first deployment, it had only 24 CFA-1's, and 6 CS-1's. After the Naval Battle of the Eyesore Islands, the Canidan Fleet decided that it needed upgrades. With promises from Prime Minister Spot, the upgrades were carried out at Manehattan and Fall River Naval Yards. An additional unit of the Mount Yakutat class was under construction at the time, and sailed to Fillydelphia for final fitting. Forced Circulation systems added to the engines gave a minor speed boost for no loss of transit range. |

New bow sections had to be added at Manehattan Naval Yards in order to accomodate the addition of sonar equipment. Other than that, the forward barbettes were recut and 5-inch dual purpose guns added. The AAA suite was bumped up a bit as well. The main guns were increased in length to 60 calibers, increasing shell velocity by about 24%, ensuring the AP shells can penetrate armor traditionally proofed against 11-inch guns. The addition of Sonar equipment allows the Province-class vessels to screen for submarines, and spot them for other vessels. The expanded hangar now holds a full Scout Squadron. The RCS Yukon and RCS Keiskatchewan were partially fitted out at Seacattle Naval Yards. |

The County-class Light Cruisers were also given the 5-meter hull extensions of the Province-class, for the sonar equipment. They were also modified to mount anti-submarine weapons. In order to give them 5-inch dual purpose guns, the original 152mm guns were replaced with Equestrian-manufactured 155mm turrets. The hangar was also expanded to fit 6 scout planes, and the AAA suite was also bumped up a bit. The boat deck was slightly modified with an updated boat rack and a different crane. The work was mainly carried out at Fall River Naval Yards. Two additional vessels were also constructed at Barkover and Sandwich Naval Yards and sent to Seacattle Naval Yards across Whulget Sound for weapons fitting. |

Upgrades to the City-class mirror those done to the rest of the Canidan fleet, including the addition of a 5-meter bow extension to mount sonar, and addition of anti-submarine weapons. The AAA suite was also upgraded with the original 25mm mounts replaced with 40mm mounts, and the two 25mm guns retained amidships. The first six vessels were modified at Fall River and Baleston Naval Yards, and the newly built last four were fitted out with Equestrian 5-inch guns at Seacattle Naval Yards. Following the Eyesore Islands action, provision was made to carry a 5-meter launch. |

Also modernized, the Canidan Frigates were given sonar, updated weapons, and updated AAA armament, as well as Depth Charges, and Equestrian torpedo launchers firing the Mark VI Gyro-Stabilized Torpedo, a longer range and more accurate torpedo weapon than the older Whitehead Steam Torpedo. Because of the issues encountered during the Eyesore Islands operation, provision was made to carry a 5-meter launch for emergency use. Despite the name coincidences, FF-010 and FF-011 are named for actual towns in Canida - Colgate is in Keiskatchewan, and Braeburn is in Yukon. |
