The very first helicopter in the world, its maiden flight was on War Day 1000, and its first mission was on War Day 1009. The standard capacity is a pilot, co-pilot, and four in the back. In an emergency, up to eight ponies can stuff themselves inside. It carries no weapons by default, but it has two slots in the cabin to mount either an Abrams MMG, or a Browning HMG each, with 450 rounds of 7mm ammo or 320 rounds of 11mm ammo for each gun, in a magazine under the front seats. The UH-1 Sprite almost immediately replaced the S-2 Owl on all naval vessels besides the Carriers, and even then, six UH-1's were squeezed in. |

The very first "Fighter" aircraft, the F/A-1 Falcon made its debut in the failed Cowrean Intervention. Light, weakly armed, but none the less a boon to the battlefield, only about 120 were made before moving on to the F/A-2 Hawk. Armaments included 100lbs (45kg) freefall bombs, 250lbs (113kg) Armor-Piercing anti-ship bombs, and 70mm "Hydra" folding fin aerial rockets. |

The F/A-2 Hawk is the very first serious fighter/attack aircraft used by Equestria, and equals or excels its various peers in different ways. Truly mutlirole, the internal or under-fuselage hardpoints can carry anything from 2 Depth Charges, 1 533mm Gyro-Stabilized Torpedo, 2 racks of 7 70mm "Hydra" Rockets, 3 255lbs/115kg light armor piercing or HE bombs, 1 500lbs/226kg heavy anti-ship armor piercing bomb, or a single 500mm high explosive demolition rocket (mainly for use against structures or "Monster" tanks). The 25mm nose cannon also allows it to deal with aerial threats very easily. The Hawk is a two-seater, and is used by both the Navy and Air Force. The gas bags on the inside provide almost completely neutral bouyancy with a full fuel load, full machine gun ammo load, and both crew. |

More advanced than even the first true Fighter, the Sparrowhawk was optimized as a compact land-based scout plane. Designed from the start to have folding wings (in two places), the Sparrowhawk can be folded up into an impressively small 1.5m x 4.7m x 2.7m package when in storage. Not intended for a heavy strike role, the Sparrowhawk can none the less equip two 45kg/100lbs bombs, or two depth charges, or two racks of five 70mm Hydra rockets, in addition to its two nose 7mm NEIGHTO machine guns. The Equestrian Air Force initially equipped three full Squadrons with Sparrowhawks, with one based in Erie, one in Apalachee, and one in Coltifornia. |

The C-1 Buffalo and B-1 LeMay use the exact same airframe and most of the same components. The B-1 uses a different section in the back two thirds of the aircraft that slighlty adjusts the engine positions and allows room for 6 internal Bomb Bays (one larger than the rest, to allow loading of Gravity Free-Fall Nuclear Armament). The C-1 Buffalo has one very large internal cargo bay with room for up to 50 troops with full equipment, and is intended to be used as a parachute troop delivery device, with internal equippage to allow Airborne Troops to exit from aft, port, and starboard hatches at the rear. For cargo, the rear area has a loading ramp, and can accomodate up to nine M-2 Powell heavy tanks, each. As with all LTA craft, each ounce of cargo will decrease its operational range, as the engines will have to work harder to provide lift in place of the gas bags. The C-1/B-1 is roughly the same length as the legendary C-130 Hercules from Earth. |
