My Little Pony: Warfare is Magic

Kingdom of the Neigtherlands: Firearms

The Kingdom of the Neigtherlands entered the war unexpectedly when their outer Spice Islands colonies were raided by Tirek forces looking for slave labor. Undermined by a fifth columnist loyal to Tirek, they did not reach out to the greater European community. They defeated Tirek's initial raiding parties while armed with crossbows and lances, and managed to capture their weapons. From this, they produced their own arms, independent of any direct influence from Equestria or elsewhere. As such, initially, they did not have a shotgun or sharpshooter rifle. All designs were worked on by the Madsen Company, by several different engineers.

Madsen-Schouboe
WEAPON TYPE: Semi-Automatic Pistol
CALIBER: 9x18mm Equestrian
CAPACITY: 8 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 40 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 101mm/4 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 188mm/7.4 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 144mm/5.6 inches
TOTAL MASS: 1.25lbs/0.56kg
The Madsen-Schouboe pistol is unique in its operation, in that it's a linkless delayed blowback gun, when a fixed barrel gun would have worked just fine. As a result, the already fairly soft shooting 9x18mm round is even more tamed than before. All officers are issued a Pistol in the Dutch military. The pistol uses Lee magazines, or copied magazines used by Tirek forces.

Madsen-Mosede
WEAPON TYPE: Sub-Machine Gun
CALIBER: 9x18mm Equestrian
CAPACITY: 32 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 100 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 216mm/8.5 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 750mm/29.5 inches (stock extended)
500mm/19.6 inches (stock folded)
OVERALL HEIGHT: 240mm/9.5 inches
TOTAL MASS: 7.1lbs/3.2kg
The Madsen SMG is a very unique design. The whole weapon is constructed of a left and right half "clam shell" with each half of the SMG having some of the functional components. The left having the bolt and chamber, the right having the trigger pack, etc. To separate the two halves, the barrel retaining nut is unscrewed, and the button to fold the stock is pressed. The stock then folds, and the clamshell pops open. The handle is hollow and contains a magazine loading tool. The Madsen SMG is issued to Naval, Air Force, and other second-line personnel as a long arm. Marine Officers, Medics, and Radioponies can request one as well.

Madsen-Rassmusen
WEAPON TYPE: Battle Rifle
CALIBER: 9x35mm Dutch
CAPACITY: 10/20/30 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 250 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 470mm/18.5 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 845mm/33.26 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 166mm/6.53 inches
TOTAL MASS: 9.4lbs/4.28kg
This rifle was actually in service from War Day 102 onwards, and never updated, except to make production easier. The stalwart defender of Dutch interests, the Dutch designed the rifle when they had very few resources to expend on spring steel used for the magazines. As such, Dutch soldiers were issued two ten round and one thirty round magazines, and the rifle itself was designed with a very unique pop-open fixed stripper clip guide. Since a stripper clip would also use spring steel, they needed an alternative, to allow Dutch soldiers to top off their magazines between combat engagements. Dutch tactics call for using the 30-round magazine in an assault, then switch to the 10-rounders and continue the engagement, topping off whenever possible from expense pouches holding 30 loose rounds. The fixed stripper clip guide can seat 5 rounds at a time. Dutch 9x35mm issued ammo uses a Spitzer-type pointed bullet weighing 8 grams, traveling at 600 m/s for 1445j of muzzle energy - a step up from Equestrian 9x35mm ammo, which is an 8g bullet at 570 m/s for 1300j.

Madsen-Rassmusen Carbine
WEAPON TYPE: Battle Rifle
CALIBER: 9x35mm Dutch
CAPACITY: 10/20/30 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 200 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 400mm/15.7 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 775mm/30.5 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 166mm/6.53 inches
TOTAL MASS: 9lbs/4.08kg
The shorter Rasmussen Carbine is the primary long arm of Colonial Troops in the East Indies. As they are, essentially, Mouse Deer, they're actually somewhat smaller than Equestrian ponies, and the full-sized Rasmussen Rifle is actually a bit too large for them to effectively use. Some are still issued it, for lack of Rasmussen Carbines, which are also issued to some ships' armories, and as a weapon for Infantry officers. Like the Madsen-Rasmussen Rifle, it has the stripper clip guide integral to the frame. Colonial Troops are issued 2 10-round and 1 20-round magazine, along with two Expense Pouches with 30 loose rounds each. The shorter barrel, of course, reduces velocity and mechanical precision. Dutch 9x35mm ammo travels at 580 m/s instead of 600, for 1350j of muzzle energy.

Madsen-Bjarnov
WEAPON TYPE: Light Machine Gun
CALIBER: 9x35mm Dutch
CAPACITY: 10/20/30 Round Detachable Box Magazine, 80 Round Drum
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 250 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 470mm/18.5 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 850mm/33.46 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 176mm/6.92 inches
TOTAL MASS: 12.7lbs/5.76kg
Another example of Dutch ingenuity, the Madsen-Bjarnov LMG is the only Support Weapon in NEIGHTO that uses fixed magazines instead of belts. In fact, the Dutch developed an 80-round Assault Drum for the weapon, for when it's being used in the assault role. Standard Gunner loadout is one 80-round drum, and 5 30-round magazines. The Madsen-Bjarnov uses the same stock and barrel as the Madsen-Rassmusen Rifle, making production even simpler. As with the Madsen-Rassmusen, the butt plate, once detached, reveals a magazine loader, making reloads from loose ammo relatively quick and simple. The 80-round drum, however, must be opened in the rear, have the rounds inserted nose down, closed, then wound three times to provide tension in the magazine. The weapon can be carried like an automatic rifle, with a canvas panel over the barrel shroud, or fired from a detachable bipod.
