My Little Pony: Warfare is Magic

Kingdom of the Neigtherlands: Warships (Dutch Royal Navy/Koninklijke Marine)

A surprise entrant into the War on Tirek, the Netherlands had been victims of active propaganda since before the war began, and had largely avoided the topics of politics, initially fearing that Prance and Germaneigh intended to carve them up or use their herds as cannon fodder. However, on War Day 900, this changed. The Dutch were the only nation to colonize areas of The Far East and the Spice Islands during and before the Cervine Wars that caused Prance and Germaneigh to give up their possessions in that region. As a result of keeping their heads down, and having good relations with the locals, they were the only ones to maintain colonies. As as result, they have always needed a robust fleet. And one with VERY long legs. While they hadn't the weapons technology to do much more than their European neighbors, they designed patrol ships and colony security ships and avisos that could cruise from the Neigtherlands proper, to the colonies, without having to refuel. This philosophy was maintained when they constructed a proper fleet, starting around the same time Equestria switched to all-steel warships.

The Dutch Navy has the longest operational range of any NEIGHTO ally, and the longest ranged guns. They have the ability to out-range all but the heaviest units in Tirek's fleet, and out-run anything they can't take on. Since the requirement for extreme fuel bunkerage was so absolute, they decided to go with nimble, long-legged Battlecruisers instead of true Battleships, but added to them an element not seen elsewhere - torpedoes. Overall, the Dutch Navy is not only about the same as the rest of NEIGHTO in raw numbers, but has units with their own unique skills and niche, and a very strong sailing tradition several hundred years long, leading to a total population and culture that has at least some basic seaponyship knowledge, giving them Naval personnel with a great breadth and depth of experience.
The Neigtherland's ship prefix is "Harer Majesteits" or Hr.Ms., recognizing Princess Wilhelmina. After becoming part of NEIGHTO, they adopted hull codes matching Equestria's.

Seeing the developments of the rest of European navies, the Neigtherlands sought something a bit different. Independent of the development of the Mount Athos-class carriers, the Dutch developed this. Initially, the Marineluchtvaartdienst (Dutch Naval Aviation Service) flew simple autogyros, and the Batavi was equipped with 28 AG.1 Zeemeeuw, each armed with 1 machine gun, and 2 x 38.6kg bombs. By War Day 850, the AG.2 Roek was rolled out. Another Autogyro design, it carried a single 175kg Armor-Piercing Bomb or Z4 Electric Torpedo under the body of the aircraft, or 4 of the older 38.6kg bombs on the wings. Listed here is the post-NIEGHTO alliance aircraft compliment.

The Princess-class battlecruisers bear much in common with the Prince Orlando-class from Vulpesylvania. Thin, realtively well armed, and fast. The Dutch Battlecruisers, however, have much longer ranged guns, and of a higher caliber. They also have a pair of fixed underwater torpedo tubes, firing the Dutch-designed Z4 Electric Torpedo based on one found on a beach after the early Dutch navy engaged a Tirek Pinnace armed with torpedoes, far earlier in the war. While being a fixed torpedo tube gives them a limited firing arc, they're a guaranteed surprise for anything that pulls up broadside to the vessel. As with all Dutch ships, it has very, very long range for a ship of its size, but it takes great care with its coal bunkerage, each compartment able to be independently flooded in event of a fire.

These hefty cruisers use a similar hull form as the Dutch battlecruisers, and have similar protection. The range on their unique 8.5-inch guns is over 30km, giving them a reach greater than some capital ships. With its added torpedo compliment, it could go toe-to-toe with some of the Tirek heavy units, and so long as it played the agility game, might come out the victor, even if it was forced to soak a few punches. The AP shell of the 215mm guns can penetrate nearly as much armor plate as the Germane 24cm guns.

A Colony Cruiser is generally a light-ish Cruiser type that's sent out to "show the flag" at Colony ports, and be able to act as independent fighting units to protect that colony, or provide it with heavy naval assistance in an emergency. The Tromp-class performs this function flawlessly, with its incredible range, high top speed, and long ranged guns. It also has potent torpedoes, capable of crippling capital ships it has no intention of directly engaging, and has both a Marine Force and Boat compliment to put troops ashore in the event of trouble. Another unseen feature is its ability to take on up to 250 civilians in its spare holds, for evacuation, or as a floating hospital. If the decks and all spare space was also filled, up to 1,000 ponies could be offloaded from an emergency situation at a time.

Hague-Class

The nible City-Class Destroyers have a decently capable AAA armament, a response to Tirek's organic air forces in flying raptorians, especially with the appearance of Heavy Raptors, able to soak up several hits of 11mm and still dive bomb or Sacrifice-Dive on a target, necessitating the use of heavier 25mm or 40mm autocannon. In addition, it has the most advanced 5-inch type guns in the NEIGHTO fleet, with large muzzle brakes. Able to elevate to 47 degrees, the Dutch 5-inch 50-cals can effectively cover the sky with Flak shells, or rain high explosive and armor piercing shells at ranges of up to 20km.

Not front-line combat vessels, Aviso Ships are generally for carrying communications or important military cargo, functioning as floating headquarters, and acting as safety patrol and sea rescue vessels. They're also occasionally called "colony frigates" or "gunboats" in some navies, as they're not front-line combat vessels, and generally only used at overseas colonies. While the Prench, Germane, and Ambleion governments generally don't have large overseas colonies any longer, the Dutch do. Hence, the Javas. They're fairly well armed, and can stand up to Destroyers and Frigates of other navies if needed, but they lack armor, and they lack torpedo armament. They can be used for evacuation, however, and can hold up to 200 ponies in an emergency.

Not the glorious fighting ships of other classes, the Orange-class is a common hull design that can be outfitted for various services and needs, and as such, their hull designations are transitory, but their numbers are not. The prefix "T-" stands for a vessel crewed by the Merchant Marine, a civilian naval organization not part of the Dutch Navy, in charge of cargo vessels in non-combat roles. Each ship can be reconfigured between Troop Transport and Freighter with as little as 2 weeks dock time.
