My Little Pony: Warfare is Magic

Empire of Roam: Firearms

Roam was already home to artisan machinery craftsponies before the war. Turning their inventiveness towards firearms, the Empire of Roam managed to produce some of the finest, highest quality arms int he NEIGHTO alliance. Willing to spend that extra bunch of bits to get exactly what they desire, Roaman weapons were quickly regarded for their robustness and overall feeling of quality - objects d'art in the Art of War.

Una Ungulam Telum, Modella 03 (UUT M-03)
WEAPON TYPE: Double Action Semi-Automatic Pistol
MANUFACTURERS: Pietro Boaretta, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 9x23mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: 12 + 1 Round Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 50 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 140mm/5.5 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 224mm/8.81 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 182mm/7.16 inches
TOTAL MASS: 2.5lbs/1.13kg
Time was taken to create Roam's official sidearm, and the resulting Modella 03 is a fantastically well made weapon, though on the larger side, even for a Pony hoof. However, the firepower of 12 rounds is very handy for close quarters defense. "Una Ungulam Telum" means "One Hoof Weapon" in Old Roaman (Latin).

Impetum Ungulam Telum, Modella 03 (IUT M-03)
WEAPON TYPE: Sub-Machine Gun
MANUFACTURERS: Pietro Boaretta, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 9x23mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: 30 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 150 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 210mm/8.26 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 776mm/30.5 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 186mm/7.32 inches
TOTAL MASS: 9.2lbs/4.1kg
Based on the Ridgway SMG, the Impetum Ungulam Telum (Assault Hoof Weapon) Modella 03 is more refined, softer shooting, handles more like a rifle, and while heavy, is very well balanced with less recoil. The Roaman Navy issues this as their primary long arm, with only Marksponies having actual rifle caliber arms available. Given the close ranges on ships, a 150-meter range is generally more than enough to hit a target reliably at the bow of even the largest vessels, from the stern.

Humero Impetum Arma, Modella 04 (HIA M-04)
WEAPON TYPE: Assault Rifle
MANUFACTURERS: Pietro Boaretta, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 7x40mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: 30 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 400 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 360mm/14.2 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 780mm/30.7 inches (stock unfolded)
560mm/22 inches (stock folded)
OVERALL HEIGHT: 232mm/9.13 inches
TOTAL MASS: 7lbs/3.17kg
A Bradley with different furniture, the HIA Modella 04 has a folding stock, instead of a retractable one, making it easier to carry in confined places. While the weapon can be fired with the stock folded, this can cause the bolt to jam against the stock on the return stroke.

Cura Humero Arma, Modella 04 (CHA M-04)
WEAPON TYPE: Precision Rifle
MANUFACTURERS: Barnelli Armi, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 8x60mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: 10/20 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 900 meters (APIT)
1000 meters + (Sniper Load)
BARREL LENGTH: 510mm/20.1 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 840mm/33.1 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 178mm/7.1 inches
TOTAL MASS: 7.9lbs/3.58kg
The Roaman precision rifle, made by Barnelli (a famous Bowyer), is a little unusual, as it's lighter than a military arm, and more in line with what a hunter might desire in such a weapon. Rather long, the weapon has a superior aiming speed, due to its better balance and lower weight, compared to other 8x60mm NEIGHTO precision rifles. The recoil is dampened by the inertia recoil system that the weapon uses, a major change from the standard long stroke gas piston used in most NEIGHTO weapons.

Magna Humero Tormento, Modella 03 (MHT M-03)
WEAPON TYPE: Combat Shotgun
MANUFACTURERS: Luigi Franchi, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 12 Gauge, 76mm/3 inch
CAPACITY: 6 Shell Detachable Tube Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 50/120 meters (shell dependant)
BARREL LENGTH: 457mm/18 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 806mm/31.7 inches (stock open)
642mm/25.27 inches(stock folded)
OVERALL HEIGHT: 154mm/6.1 inches (stock open)
178mm/7.1 inches (stock folded)
TOTAL MASS: 8lbs/3.63kg
This rather unusual weapon is the only shotgun in any military inventory that isn't a pure semi-automatic. Instead, it's a convertable pump-or-semi-auto weapon. To put it into semi-auto mode, the slide is pulled all the way back, and a tab at the base of the slide is bitten down on and locked into place. Otherwise, the weapon cycles manually, by pulling the slide back and forth. The weapon also has a top folding stock, and a special hook attachment for it, that allows the weapon to be held in one foreleg and fired without the use of the other.

Iactus Parvus Celer, Modella 04 (IPC M-04)
WEAPON TYPE: Squad Automatic Rifle
MANUFACTURERS: Pietro Boaretta, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 7x40mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: 30/60 Round Detachable Box Magazine
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 400 meters
BARREL LENGTH: 508mm/20 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 942mm/36.7 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 232mm/9.13 inches
TOTAL MASS: 8.2lbs/3.71kg
Upgraded with a heavy barrel, different flash hider, and a bipod, the IPC M04 was and is the backbone of Italian support weapons, with normal infantry squad machine gun billets using these instead, and medium machine guns reserved only for Weapons Sections at the company level. The 60-round "double double" stack magazines are a bit finicky to load manually, but shoot just fine. The barrel cannot be replaced, so the standard 720 rounds-per-minute rate of fire was decreased with a heavier bolt, to 600 rounds per minute, to help prevent barrel wear and overheating.

Sustentatio Iactus Celeris, Modella 04
WEAPON TYPE: Medium/General Purpose Machine Gun
MANUFACTURER: Meowser Werke/Luigi Franchi, S.p.A.
CALIBER: 7x40mm NEIGHTO
CAPACITY: Non-Disintegrating Metal Linked Belt, 50/120/240rd containers
EFFECTIVE RANGE: 400 meters (point target) - 800 meters (area target)
BARREL LENGTH: 520mm/20.5 inches
OVERALL LENGTH: 940mm/37 inches
OVERALL HEIGHT: 154mm/6.1 inches
TOTAL MASS: 20.5lbs/9.3kg
This is a copy of the Germane MG-4/2. Roam attempted to make several different belt fed machine guns, but largely failed, either due to over-complicated designs, or because of some other failing - at one point, soon after joining the alliance, they were set to adopt a machine gun that fed from a side mounted carriage fed by stripper clips used to refill Sherman magazines, that required an oiler to help the rounds extract. Rejected as ridiculous more or less at the last minute, the Roaman forces continued to use Equestrian-donated Pershings until early 1004 C.S., when they requested the rights to manufacture the MG-4/2 instead. Robust, but heavy, the MG-4/2 has a blisteringly high rate of fire of 1200 rounds per minute on "fast fire." A rate reduction switch was added to reduce the rate of fire by half, which deactivates a small counterweight underneath the bolt, that normally travels with it during the return stroke. With the switch on "slow automatic," the counterweight does not start its travel until the bolt is fully into battery, and only when the counterweight itself is in battery, does the firing pin unlock.
